So the weather is getting bad only because we do not have the roof on. My big hope is that we can at least get the sheeting done before the snow and ice comes! (I know that it is still Sept - but we do live in Fountain Green)

Sheeting the Roof
So the weather is getting bad only because we do not have the roof on. My big hope is that we can at least get the sheeting done before the snow and ice comes! (I know that it is still Sept - but we do live in Fountain Green)

The side of the house came down.
Right before the trusses came and were placed. The outside wall of the house needed to come down so that we could connect the old house to the new house. Our friend Kari Arnoldsen came over one night to help us tear it down. Her family is building a log cabin and wanted some of the old wood from the side of our house.

The trusses came
So I looked out the window and what did I see? A truck with the trusses piled tall as a tree. One day they showed up and the next day they were placed on the house. Our little crew did a great job! I love some of the angles of the pictures and look at the triangles that are formed for all that attic storage. This changed the way the house looked.

The Mystery!!!
When everything was out of the kitchen - I could not wait to find out what the mystery space was. I have measured and measured our house and there is a space that I just could figure out. Everyone made their guesses and then Gus made a hole in the wall. Guess what was in there???
Out with the old, In with the new
Here is what our kitchen use to look like. Then we take it all out. The first thing to move was the refrigerator. Then we just moved everything to the garage with a few exceptions. Our friends Steve and Lorraine helped us ALL day and at the end of the day we all were very tired but knew that we had really gotten a lot day that day. What a way to celebrate Labor day!!!
