Uncle Brad came to visit

Every time that Uncle Brad comes to visit - we think of some BIG project to work on. This time it was the cold storage room. On Thursday - Brad and I emptied the room all morning (we almost couldn't stand when we were done) and then on Thursday afternoon we went to Provo to get the supplies for the shelves. Friday was all day building and Saturday we finish it up and load the shelves. I can't believe that we got it all back in and looking so nice.

Thanks for the Cinderella Dress

When we got picked to adopt and the presents started coming in, Our family friend Donna, from TX sent us a great package. This dress was one of them and I have always loved it. There is going to be a special day in December that I wanted Rachel to wear this for but this morning for church I put it on and it fits her now - I guess I will have to look for another special dress for Dec. But Thank you Donna - I just love it!!! (My friend makes bows and I can't beleive how many outfits that Rachel has that this bow works perfect with)

The start of Halloween!

So My friend Justine came over the other day with her darling little boy, Tyrek. He had the best little halloween outfit on and I was just wishing that I had just one outfit for Rachel. What do you know, a family friend (an adopted sister) Mary Jane Oliver gave my mom a pile of clothes, my mom packed them up and mailed them off. I just love them!!! This was the first one that she wear because I think it is great that the ghost glows in the dark. In fact, all day long Rachel and I would go hiding in the closet and bathrooms so that she could see it glow. Thanks so much!

Fall Colors in the Mountains!

Fall in the Rockies is beautiful, but it only lasts a short time. We took Rachel on a little hike in the hills above our house. She seems to be very happy out of doors, and she likes the taste of the Red ones!

Miilions of Peaches!!!

For my BIG 35th birthday - I decided that I wanted to do something new. I know it sounds silly but picking peaches was the event of the evening. We have a dear friend, Klair, who has a friend that owns a peach orchard - so we where set.

I didn't realize how fuzzy you could get reaching up into a tree of peaches but I have found out. We filled the trunk with as many peaches that would fit and then we filled the seat in the back next to Rachel. ( I have to say I don't remember Gus's car smelling so good) All you wanted to do was to lean over and keep eating them.

For dinner, Gus took me to Cracker Barrel and we had a great time. I wanted to go there because Gus's Grandfather just passed away and it was a place that we both loved going to.

When we dropped our friend off, he said have fun putting all those peaches up! I didn't know what he was talking about until I started!!!

Where is Uncle Brad when you need him. I don't know anyone that loves peaches more than Uncle Brad. I have been doing peaches ever since. I am now down to about 3 - 5 gallon buckets and my birthday was a week ago. Let me tell you - I am almost peached out. I have given so many away and have done 21 jars, 5 - 1 gallon plastic bags of dried peaches (this is about 10 drier loads - which is a lot and then some) and made two peach pies. I will keep working on them until they are all done and then smile because I can do something different!!!

What I have learned...

The start of school is right around the corner. It is somewhat wierd to me that I am not returning as a teacher. I have discovered that even if I am not a math teacher in the classroom, I am a teacher in the walls of my home. For instance, I have learned a lot of things while teaching Rachel. The first thing is that Grandpa Steve loves to share his candy. The other day, Gus and I went to the town play and Grandpa Steve watched Rachel. Before I know it - He had a candy bottle and Rachel was loving every suck - She had blue raspberry everywhere and loved it! I have also learned that Germany has bright bright clothing. Gus's Mom, Paula, saved all of Gus's baby clothes from when he was an infant in Germany. We did a fashion show and Rachel looks really good in her dad's cloths. Rachel loves a good old army jeep and the rides that Brother and Sister Wadley give her. We have learned together that hikes with Dad are one of our more favorite things to do and last but not least... Barsky the big woofer likes Rachel but Rachel is still thinking about it.... I can tell that there are several more things for me to learn - Rachel's world is very exciting!!!

Lamb Day 2010

We had so much fun on Lamb day! Jessica Wright won Grand Champion Lamb. Rachel enjoyed riding the winning lamb and handing out with Pop, Popo, Mommy, Daddy, Rylie, Jessica, Josie, Bodie, Natalie and Kevin Wright. We also went to the parade with Aunt Biz, Pop, and Popo. Daddy was in the parade carrying the American Flag!
